Parks and Recreation
Umstead State Park – Tucked between the growing cities of Raleigh, Cary, Durham and the corporate world of Research Triangle Park, the park offers picnicking, fishing, hiking and horseback riding on trails through the woods.
Lake Wheeler Park – 150 acres of park land and a 650-acre lake offering fishing, sailing, canoing, rowing, kayaking, a small conference facility, concessions, picnic facilities and sand volleyball.
Jordan Lake State Recreation Area – The NC Division of Parks and Recreation operates nine recreation areas on the lake with almost 14,000 acres of water for boating, fishing and water skiing.
Lake Crabtree County Park – Located adjacent to a 520-acre flood control lake, visitors enjoy a variety of exciting opportunities including fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking and nature study.
